About the firm

A family firm that paints small buildings

Clemente started painting two-flats with his brother. He now runs the firm with his wife Pilar and their children Aura and Julian, and seven painters work on the crews. We paint the buildings our neighbors own: two-flats, three-flats and a few doors, where the landlord often lives on the first floor.

Pilar and Aura answer texts and calls in English or Spanish. The crews speak a mix of both.

Who answers and who paints

Four of us run the jobs. Seven painters work on the crews.

  • Clemente Avalos

    Owner, estimates and prep

Walks every building that needs a visit. Checks the trim, taps the ceilings and writes the repair list.

  • Pilar Avalos

    Owner, texts and scheduling

Reads every photo that comes in and texts back. Answers in English or Spanish.

  • Aura Avalos

    Crew lead, units and stairwells

Runs the unit turns and the common stairs. Sends the schedule by text the night before each day. Speaks English and Spanish.

  • Julian Avalos

    Crew lead, porches and exteriors

Runs the porch and exterior jobs, from the first scrape to the last coat.

How we work

Three habits

  • We text, in writing

The schedule, the estimate and any change arrive as a message you can keep.

  • We cover first

Floors, stairs and furniture are covered before a can is opened.

  • We say what we find

A soft ceiling, a leak stain or a failing window is shown to you, with a photo.

Send the unit.

Three photos is the whole first step.
